Project WAFER was part of Genentech's ongoing capital improvement program to expand manufacturing and research capabilities at its Vacaville campus. The $19 million project added approximately 90,000 square feet of office and warehouse space across Buildings 3 and 4, increasing operational capacity while supporting continued growth of one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.


The project included expansion of a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) warehouse, construction of engineering office space, conference facilities, hazardous materials storage and sampling areas, maintenance facilities, calibration laboratories, and supporting infrastructure. These improvements enhanced manufacturing operations while providing modern workspaces for engineering and facilities personnel.


EPC Consultants provided program management support as the architectural lead for Project WAFER, coordinating project planning, design, and implementation activities in support of Genentech's broader capital improvement program.
