The Presidio Parkway Project replaced the aging Doyle Drive corridor with a modern, seismically resilient roadway connecting San Francisco to the Golden Gate Bridge. Originally constructed in 1936, Doyle Drive no longer met modern safety or seismic standards. The replacement project transformed the 1.6-mile corridor into a safer, more efficient transportation gateway while preserving the historic character and natural landscape of the Presidio National Park.
Completed in 2015, the project included construction of new bridges, roadway structures, landscaped tunnels, retaining walls, utility relocations, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements. The redesigned corridor significantly improved traffic operations, enhanced seismic performance, and better integrated the transportation system with the surrounding parklands while maintaining one of the Bay Area's most important regional transportation links.
EPC provided construction management support throughout project delivery, assisting with field coordination, construction oversight, quality assurance, contractor interface, and project documentation. EPC worked closely with Caltrans and project partners to help deliver this nationally recognized infrastructure improvement while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule objectives.
