Central Subway

The Central Subway Project is a landmark transit expansion that extends San Francisco's Muni T Third Line 1.7 miles from the Caltrain Station at Fourth and King to Chinatown, providing a direct rapid transit connection through South of Market, Union Square, and the city's historic Chinatown neighborhood. Opened for full passenger service in 2023, the project improves mobility, reduces surface congestion, and strengthens regional connections to BART and Caltrain.

The project includes three underground stations, one surface station, twin bored tunnels beneath downtown San Francisco, major utility relocations, and extensive rail systems infrastructure. Designed to improve transit reliability and capacity, the Central Subway enhances access to jobs, businesses, and neighborhoods while supporting the city's long-term sustainability and transportation goals.

EPC Consultants provided comprehensive construction support services throughout project delivery, including field construction inspection, office engineering, project controls, risk management, safety oversight, document control, claims and estimating, and community outreach. Working alongside the project team, EPC helped support the successful delivery of one of San Francisco's most significant transit infrastructure investments.
