The Brightwater Conveyance System was one of the largest wastewater infrastructure projects undertaken in the Pacific Northwest. Developed by King County, the program included construction of approximately 13 miles of large-diameter conveyance tunnels, multiple shafts, portals, pipelines, and supporting infrastructure connecting the Brightwater Treatment Plant to regional wastewater collection systems.
Designed to increase treatment capacity while protecting Puget Sound and surrounding waterways, the project significantly enhanced regional wastewater reliability and environmental sustainability through the construction of a modern, resilient conveyance system.
EPC provided tunnel engineering and construction management support for the Brightwater Conveyance System, assisting with construction oversight, contractor coordination, quality assurance, tunnel construction activities, and technical field support. EPC's expertise contributed to the successful delivery of one of the nation's premier wastewater tunnel programs.
