The BART Warm Springs Extension expanded regional transit service approximately 5.4 miles south from the existing Fremont Station to the new Warm Springs/South Fremont Station, providing a critical connection between Alameda County and Silicon Valley. Opened in 2017, the project improved regional mobility while accommodating future expansion into Santa Clara County.
The project included construction of new aerial and underground guideways, bridges, trackwork, systems infrastructure, and the Warm Springs/South Fremont Station, featuring multimodal transit connections, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and nearly 2,000 parking spaces. Designed to improve capacity, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance transit accessibility, the extension represents a significant milestone in the continued expansion of the Bay Area Rapid Transit system.
EPC Consultants provided construction management support for the Warm Springs Extension, assisting with construction oversight, quality assurance, field coordination, contractor interface, and project documentation. Working closely with BART and project stakeholders, EPC helped support the successful delivery of this major transportation infrastructure investment while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule objectives.
