The BART Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension brought Bay Area Rapid Transit service into Santa Clara County for the first time, extending the regional rail system approximately 10 miles from Warm Springs/South Fremont Station to the new Milpitas and Berryessa/North San José stations. Opened in 2020, the project significantly expanded regional transit access while improving connectivity between Silicon Valley and the greater Bay Area.
The project included construction of two new passenger stations, aerial guideway structures, trackwork, utility relocations, systems infrastructure, roadway improvements, and multimodal transportation facilities. As the first phase of the larger BART Silicon Valley Program, the extension established the foundation for future expansion into downtown San José and Santa Clara while supporting sustainable transportation and regional economic growth.
EPC Consultants provided construction management support for the Berryessa Extension, assisting with field oversight, contractor coordination, quality assurance, project documentation, and construction inspection activities. EPC worked collaboratively with the owner and project teams to support the successful delivery of one of the Bay Area's most significant transit expansion projects.
